I need your expert advice. I am considering the purchase of a Rigel A+ Deluxe Custom that has a V Neck. What are the advantages and disadvantages of a V Neck. I have a V neck (1 3/4") on my Martin guitar and sometimes wonder if it is the cause some thumb joint discomfort while playing for extended amounts of time (3-4 hours). If any of you have experienced the V Neck vs a regular neck I will appreciate your input. I don't want to go through the purchase, shipping, etc. and then have to return the mandolin. There is no store close to where I live that has a V Neck that I can try.

I get thumb problems from a V shaped guitar or banjo neck too, but I don't think that is necessarily an indicator of what a V mandolin neck would be like.
I'm sure there are proponents of V vs non-V, but at the end of the arguement, it all boils down to personal preference. If you can't play an example to see if you like it, I don't know how you'll know.
Good luck with your mando search.
