Will a dyed or stained wood glue up ok and be durable or should the glued area be cleaned and or avoided at all cost? I wood (haha) think a dyed board would be fine but a stained board may not be advisable depending on what the stains ingredients are. Am I correct?

My aniline stains are actually dyes. Stain means lots of different things. I wouldn't attempt to glue anything that has been stained with an oil based stain, like is commonly used in furniture and cabinets.(like minwax).
Dyed wood would probably glue OK, but I would greatly prefer all my glue joints were clean and freshly cut. That's virtually impossible in mandolin construction, but why take the chance of gluing stained or dyed wood if you don't have to?
