There is a local irish band that plays what I'm told is a Steve Earle song, but they didn't know the name. #Unfortunately it dosen't have lyrics so it seems it may be difficult to identify. #Does anyone know of any Steve Earle instrumental songs featuring the mandolin? #It has more of an irish feel to it than most of his music. #Sort of a easy paced, happy, bouncing feel to the song. #If it would help, I can try to post an mp3 of part of a riff, but I'm not sure I can do it right.

I think that song might be "Paddy on the Beat". It's track number 12 on The Mountain. It is a good song.

That may be it, but it is hard to tell. I can only remember pieces of it in my head, and the samples of "Paddy" don't seem to match up with it. What I can remember seems to be a bit more upbeat. I guess I'll just have to go see the band again http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

The band's cover is a bit more rowdy, but I'm pretty sure Dominic Street is the song. Thanks for all the suggestions. Now I just have to learn to play it! Anybody know of a tab for it?
