I've had this mandolin/case for quite awhile from a deceased uncle that once lived in Chicago. The only thing I've found,if I'm correct, is that #Lyon & Healy made the "College Line" between 1904 & 1908 for a brief time in between "Washburn". I'd like to locate additional info on this mandolin and learn of it's value somehow. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you!

Milwa, you would get more info here if you were able to post a few pics. Also if it is a roundback, then you should move this question over to the classical section .Kerry
The College Line 2006 was a mid priced bowlback mandolin, having 15 rosewood ribs and an unbound dot inlaid fingerboard. It retailed for $15 in 1905, the price of the cheapest Washburn at the time (L&H did not stop making Washburns then).
Can you look inside the bowl on the small piece of wood where the neck attaches to - maybe there is a number stamped there that could indicate the year of manufacture.
Current value is not substantial - about $150-300, depending on condition.

Thank you very much for your reply. You described the mandolin I have in my possession exactly! I wasn't able to locate a serial number or date inside the bowl, or elsewhere. Inside there's just a sticker that says "College Line"-Lyon and Healy Chicago, with #2006 handwritten below it. Although it seems to be in pretty good shape,I'm not experienced on how to go about actually determining that. Any further suggestions that you or anyone have for me would have would much be appreciated. I'd like to sell it once I've determined it's fair value.

I would also go along with keef's assessment, tho itwould help to see some photos to determine condition. Is it scratched or cracked anywhere? Are there pieces missing? Is it currently strung up and playable (hopefully with extralight gauge strings)? Do the tuning machines all work well? Are all the inlays intact.
If you have problems posting pics, send me an IM and i can post them for you.

Thanks Jim. It'll be a short awhile until I get ahold of a digital & get pics. I will keep in contact & would appreciate your help posting if I need it.
Overall it appears in good condition without obvious flaws such as any cracks, missing pieces, etc.
