what are some alternate tunings for a mando? ive been experimenting with GDGD alot and figured out some cool stuff. are there any others out there? plus, what are some minor chords for the GDGD tuning and stuff. is there a site out there with all that sttuff on it? if there isnt im gonna make one.

Well I use alternate tunings on the fiddle, and popular ones are
DDAD (sometimes called growling bear tuning)
AEAE
AEAC# (black mountain tuning)
GDAD

For mando specifically, there's the "Get up John" tuning. The G pair is tuned to F# and A (I think) and the E pair is tuned to C# and something. Hopefully someone will correct me on this before you try it. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
