..say I found a pic on the web thats not in JPEG form...how do I convert to be so?

For most conversions, just open it in your favourite image viewer (Microsoft Photo Editor, which is part of Windows, will do), select "Save as..." and change the format to JPG. Depending on your image viewer, you may be able to adjust the compression parameter and image size as well. The free IrfanView viewer is pretty good for most of these things.

..thats just the problem....when I click on the pic..select "save as"...there is no "format" option

Juwst save it to your hard drive. then open it in "paint" or "imaging" and do a "save as"
