Description:

This is a 1994 Franz Werner Virtuoso violin. The violin alone costs $1595 through a dealer (check price at Southwest Strings).
The violin is a 4/4 full size instrument which has been played but not abused. There are no cracks whatsoever and the varnish finish is in great shape with moderate flaming and a two piece back. I put a Thomastic tailpiece on the instrument but the original standard ebony will be included.
It has Evah Pirazzi strings. It comes with an octagonal pernambuco bow of better quality than the VB-7 that SW Strings puts in their outfit.
I am including a rectangular Bobelock case.
This is a good opportunity for a quality instrument at a reasonable price. I am only selling it because I play a finer instrument now and I am selling some instruments I don't play to raise money for my daughter's college tuition.

This violin is being relisted due to another buyer withdrawing his offer.

Thank you for your consideration

Description:

Another one set up and ready to go. This one is labeled, "Reproduction of the Betts Stradivarius, Cremonensis Fecit Anno 1704, Ernst Heinrich Roth (signature), Markneukirchen". There is no internal stamp. I am not positive this is authentic but have been told it probably is from the Roth shop.

Excellent playing condition and a sweet yet powerful tone. The price is low because of cosmetic issues. It sports a repaired crack near the bass bar (solidly repaired but could use some touchup) and some varnish distress and dings mainly on the treble side of the top. Nice setup with quality ebony fittings and high quality bridge. Currently has a tailpiece with built in fine-tuners and new Helicore strings but that can be changed if desired. Comes with a vintage hard case.

Price - $900 plus shipping. Trade for archtop guitar or mandolin? 3-day trial period - buyer pays return shipping.
Email for more pics or more information.

Description:

More violins dug out of the closet and set up. Recently set up with quality ebony fittings, new bridge, and new Tonica strings, this ~70-80 year old violin is in perfect playing condition. The tone is very smooth and resonant and right in the middle of the bright/dark spectrum. It is also responds easily to light bow pressure.

As the label says, it was "Made Exclusively for the First National Institute of Allied Arts". The label also says made in Germany. This is not to be confused with the cheaper violin of similar name with the decal on the back. The violin has excellent workmanship and an ebony collar on the button to "crown" the back I had two others like this (same label and model): they were bought for $1500 and $1250 (had a repaired crack) through a music store. I think this one would probably sell for a similar price; it sounds better than those but it is not in perfect cosmetic condition . There are a couple small repaired cracks under the tailpiece and some varnish dings on the front.
Price - $775 plus shipping. Trade possible for right guitar or mandolin. 3 day trial period but buyer pays return shipping.
Please email with questions or to see more pictures.

Description:

I've got a fiddle for sale, the label inside reads "J.A. Kingston, St. Catherines, Ontario, No. 3 Long Strad, 1955". It comes with a nice shaped hardshell case, with brown fabric covering, velour lining, shroud, two bow holders. I bought this from Elderly a few years back but no longer play as I'm completely addicted to the mandolin. No bow, but I can throw in an inexpensive Glasser fiberglass one. $450 including shipping to the CONUS. Not interested in trades, sorry. 48hr approval, buyer pays return shipping in the event of a return. Paypal preferred.

Description:

Courier oblong violin/fiddle case originally bought from Gianna Violins last fall. (http://www.giannaviolins.com/Accessories/violincases1.html) Case is in excellent condition with one light scuff on the exterior (does not affect instrument protection). Waterproof black exterior, velvet interior in European style, with two toned tan/green interior colors. Leather tie around instrument neck to hold in place, 3 storage compartments inside case, full length music pocket on exterior, leather handle, two shoulder/backpack straps included. Case has an arched top and plywood construction. I bought a half-moon case for my fiddle that I prefer, and I'm clearing out all instruments and accessories I don't currently use. This case has served me well for a year and should do something other than sit in my living room taking up space. Offers considered.

Selling for $90 shipped to CONUS. Paypal preferred. Personal check OK, but must clear before shipping.

Please email with any questions!

Description:

For Sale is my prize instrument...My Conservatory Violin. IT has been dated around 1890. It is a Strad copy but is not your usual Strad copy.. The higher end Strad copies were used in the Conservatories. There had been a crack between the bridge and the bottom of the violin. It had been repaired years ago and I had it checked when I got it a couple years ago to make sure the fix was sound...It has been appraised for $2500 will take "Best Offers" for it...

you can see pics at:

http://www.acousticguitarforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=140955

no one interested in violins / fiddles there...

I have bought a few things here but and bought and sold and traded quite a few things on AGF so I have a good rep :)

Ken
