Description:	1924 Gibson F-4, serial number 79270, in very good original condition. It has a replaced bridge and nut, and some significant playing wear. I'm selling this for a friend, and I took it to my luthier to inspect. He noted a 1" crack on the back near the binding that's stable, and a small crack on the front that's not through the wood. Neither of them pose any problem. The mandolin plays like a dream, even though the first five frets are fairly dented. The neck is very straight and the action is nice and low. The best part is that this mandolin really sounds great. I've owned several vintage oval hole Gibsons, and this is as good or better than any of them. It comes with the original pickguard and clamp, but the clamp won't hold. I can't see any damage to it, and I don't want to mess it up. The mandolin comes with a Golden Gate shaped case that looks like one of the old ones. The owner of this mandolin is selling it due to tough economic times, but loves it and doesn't want to part with it cheap. Asking $8000 plus shipping and insurance.
